Fenton<\/strong> est professeur agr\u00e9g\u00e9 d'histoire de l'art \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 de Miami, dans l'Ohio. Titulaire d'un doctorat de l'universit\u00e9 de Floride, M. Fenton concentre ses recherches sur les arts africains, en particulier sur les th\u00e8mes suivants : mascarades, soci\u00e9t\u00e9s secr\u00e8tes, syst\u00e8mes de connaissances indig\u00e8nes, herboristerie, artistes, intersections entre l'art et la religion, et m\u00e9thodes \u00e9thiques de travail sur le terrain. M. Fenton m\u00e8ne des recherches sur le terrain depuis seize ans dans le sud-est du Nigeria. Il travaille avec le chef Ekpenyong Bassey Nsa depuis le d\u00e9but de ses travaux sur le terrain en 2008. Fenton a publi\u00e9 de nombreux articles sur ses recherches et est l'auteur de Masquerade and Money in Urban Nigeria: The Case of Calabar (University of Rochester Press, 2022). Sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans les pratiques de mascarade en Afrique de l'Ouest de la fin du XIXe si\u00e8cle \u00e0 nos jours, ses publications portent principalement sur la performance, l'innovation cr\u00e9ative, le m\u00e9c\u00e9nat, l'islam et les identit\u00e9s musulmanes, ainsi que les m\u00e9thodologies de recherche. Homann si\u00e8ge au comit\u00e9 de r\u00e9daction de l'UNC dans le consortium d'\u00e9dition de la revue African Arts depuis 2015. Son chapitre \u00ab Entanglements of Belonging: Identifying with Place in an Urban Muslim Masquerade \u00bb (Les enchev\u00eatrements de l'appartenance : s'identifier \u00e0 un lieu dans un masque musulman urbain) a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9 par Intellect dans le volume \u00e9dit\u00e9 Decolonizing Islamic Art in Africa: New Approaches to Muslim Expressive Cultures (D\u00e9coloniser l'art islamique en Afrique : nouvelles approches des cultures expressives musulmanes) en 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Aim\u00e9 Kantoussan<\/strong> est actuellement directeur de recherche au Mus\u00e9e des Civilisations Noires \u00e0 Dakar, au S\u00e9n\u00e9gal. Arch\u00e9ologue et historien, il s'int\u00e9resse aux questions li\u00e9es au d\u00e9veloppement des infrastructures, en particulier des routes en Afrique de l'Ouest, ainsi qu'\u00e0 la sauvegarde et \u00e0 la mise en valeur du patrimoine en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, dans un contexte de d\u00e9veloppement probl\u00e9matique du territoire africain. Maples<\/strong> Fran\u00e7oise Billion Richardson est conservatrice d'art africain au Mus\u00e9e d'art de la Nouvelle-Orl\u00e9ans. Elle a enseign\u00e9 l'art africain \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 et a occup\u00e9 des fonctions de conservatrice et de chercheuse au Mus\u00e9e d'art de Caroline du Nord, au Cantor Arts Center de l'universit\u00e9 de Stanford, \u00e0 la Yale University Art Gallery, au Mus\u00e9e national d'art africain de la Smithsonian Institution, au High Desert Museum et au Hearst Museum of Anthropology de l'universit\u00e9 de Berkeley. Maples est r\u00e9dactrice en chef de la rubrique Dialogues de la revue African Arts depuis 2020 et a organis\u00e9 plusieurs expositions sur l'art africain historique et contemporain. Ses recherches portent sur les mascarades urbaines et contemporaines, la d\u00e9colonialit\u00e9, les bijoux et l'auto-stylisme, les politiques mus\u00e9ales, les pratiques de collection et les restitutions. Youmbi int\u00e8gre souvent des techniques traditionnelles de sculpture camerounaise dans ses installations, ses performances et ses vid\u00e9os.
