Qu'est-ce que Masquerade ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tout comme la plupart des formes d'art, le carnaval en Afrique de l'Ouest d\u00e9fie toute d\u00e9finition universelle et est par nature une pratique vivante et \u00e9volutive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D'une mani\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, les mascarades pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es ici sont des reflets tridimensionnels de concepts ou d'id\u00e9es qui sont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s lors d'\u00e9v\u00e9nements publics ou priv\u00e9s auxquels participent des \u00eatres humains, et parfois des esprits, afin de cr\u00e9er des liens entre eux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les occasions de mascarade varient, et les \u0153uvres peuvent exprimer une solidarit\u00e9 politique, c\u00e9l\u00e9brer des personnalit\u00e9s ou des f\u00eates, rechercher une guidance spirituelle ou ancestrale, revitaliser les liens communautaires, \u00e9duquer aux devoirs civiques ou critiquer la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Les repr\u00e9sentations sont souvent th\u00e9\u00e2trales et dramatiques, et comprennent presque toujours des chor\u00e9graphies et des gestes, de la danse et de la musique, la participation du public, ainsi que des repas et des boissons partag\u00e9s. Les artistes et les interpr\u00e8tes qui mettent en sc\u00e8ne les mascarades sont des professionnels hautement qualifi\u00e9s, honor\u00e9s pour leur art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
